Inspired by Gloria Killian - Part inspired by pandemic-induced lockdowns, part inspired by the courageous Gloria Killian. This resilient woman was cruelly accused of murder, robbery, and conspiracy and served nearly 20 years in prison after being sentenced to 32 years to life. Gloria spent every day in the library acting as a prison lawyer for her fellow inmates, despite her own pleas being rejected. After new evidence surfaced that finally proved her innocence, Gloria was released in 2002.
Dark, musky, and steeped in justice - Old, battered books fill the shelves of the prison library, intermingling notes of ancient pages and aged leather binding. Notes of amber and saffron rest on a base of dry cedar, resins, musks, and incense to complete the story of justice, discovery, and contemplation.

About Lauren Dickinson Clarke
Lauren was born in a small English town where she delighted in drawing from an early age. Even as a child, her sketches revealed a range of imaginative and dreamlike scenarios. Allured by the obscure and the beautiful, Lauren studied fashion design where she trained in the discipline of hand craftsmanship. She was soon recognized for her creative talents and accepted apprenticeships at renowned fashion houses; Mary Katrantzou and Hussein Chalayan. Before long, a revered position at Alexander McQueen had beckoned. Here, Lauren flourished and practiced the art of storytelling through objects and clothing. Lauren was inspired by the transformative qualities of beautiful garments. She watched intently as stylists blended different clothes to create a look so sublime it was comparable only to art. Lauren wondered if this same interactive and artistic experience could be applied to objects in the home. After all, shouldn't art and dreams be part of everyday life?
And so, with a pen in hand and a dream in her heart, she pursued her quest to create beautiful objects that would elevate any room into a whimsical and artistic experience. After months of sketching, drafting, deliberating, and dreaming (and countless cups of tea), her first creation was finally born and she named it; Madame's Creation.
